Does APEX Self Storage provide a lock for the storage space? Does anyone else have a key?

You can purchase high-quality locks at our facilities, or you can bring your own. Either way,you are the only person who has the key.

Will you send me a monthly invoice?

No, APEX doesn't invoice its customers. You can pay in advance, by credit card, or by mailing in a cheque. Complete terms are set out in our rental agreement.

Am I renting the space month to month or am I on a lease?

There is no lease with APEX Self Storage. You rent only as long as you need, even if it's only 5 weeks.

Will your staff help me move in to my storage locker?

Unfortunately, our staff can't help you move into your locker, but we have carts and dollies available to help you out.

Will you accept packages for me if I can't be there?

Of course! We will take delivery of your packages free of charge. If you leave your key with us, we can even have it delivered directly to your unit.

My home insurance doesn't cover storage; do you offer insurance?

Yes. We offer insurance through a third party insurer.

Is there a limit to how long I can store my goods?

No, as long as you pay your rent on time, there is no limit to how long you can stay.

When, and how often can I access my unit?

You can access your locker anytime you like. We offer access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, unless you set up pre-authorized payment, you will need to drop by during our office hours to rent a locker or pay your bills.

How safe are my belongings?

We do our best to keep your belongings safe and secure. We offer computer controlled gate access at all locations, so that we can monitor all activity on the site. 

In Vancouver, and Coquitlam, all of our units are individually alarmed, and we have security cameras to keep an eye on things.

Having said that, you are ultimately responsible for your goods during your term with us, so we recommend that you ensure that you have adequate insurance to cover your belongings. We would be happy to provide you with more information regarding storage insurance.

Isn't APEX Self Storage a Canadian company? Why do you use imperial measurements?

APEX is Canadian owned and operated. We use imperial measurements instead of metric ones, so that you can compare us "apples to apples" with other facilities. Moving companies also tend to speak in terms of cubic or square footage, so it's easier for you decide exactly how much space you will need with us.

When will my rent be due?

Your rent is due monthly on the date that you begin renting. i.e. If you first signed your rental agreement on the 10th of the month, your rent will be due on the 10th of every month.

What happens if I don't pay my rent on time?

At the very least, late fees and penalties will be incurred. In the worst case, you may lose everything you have stored.

We will explain all these details to you when you rent with us, but you'll never have to worry about it as long as you pay your rent on time.

Do you have heated and unheated units?

We believe that you shouldn't have to pay extra to keep your goods in the right conditions. All of our facilities offer heated units. Please check with one of our staff members to ensure that we have a unit available in the size that you require.

What are your office hours?

Our office hours vary from store to store. Please see our Locations page for more detailed information.

Have you done anything to prevent moisture from entering my unit?

Like you, we know it rains a lot in Vancouver!

Our roofs are designed to allow water to run off into our aisles. Additionally, our aisles and drive areas are designed to ensure that water flows away from the building.

As an added benefit, we have large, covered loading areas that will allow you to move in or out without getting wet!

Is there power in your units?

No. For the safety and security of all our customers, there are no power outlets in our units.

Does APEX Self Storage offer franchising opportunities?

What are the dimensions of the doors?

This will vary depending on the size of the unit. Our most common door sizes are 3' and 8' wide. All of our doors are 8' high.

What is the height of the ceilings?

Ceiling height varys by location, but is generally 10' tall. Please call to confirm the height of your unit.
